SASO Certificate
A SASO certificate refers to a conformity certificate issued under the regulations of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO). It is required for many products being exported to Saudi Arabia to ensure they meet the country’s safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
What is a SASO Certificate?
A SASO certificate verifies that a product complies with Saudi technical regulations and approved standards. Without it, goods may be rejected at Saudi ports or delayed in customs.
Types of SASO Certification
There are two main certification systems:
-
Product Certificate of Conformity (PCoC)
- Confirms that a specific product meets Saudi standards.
- Required before shipping goods.
-
Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SCoC)
- Issued for each shipment.
- Verifies that the shipped goods match the approved certified product.
These certificates are often processed through the SABER system, an online platform used in Saudi Arabia for product registration and certification.
